AGENDA
1. Review minutes of April 28, 2004, meeting
A. Glenn will get a plaque re: names of past presidents of MSM. Some of the past presidents have been: Jack Spence, Brian Lier, Glen Anderson, Don Quensel. Paul to look through old minutes from past board meetings to identify past presidents and the terms they served.
C. Grant Hammond Trophy - do not know where it is. Paul to check old board minutes to see where trophy is located.
D. High School swim meet - Paul not able to organize this.
Swim
E. Financial review of Provincial swim meet. Ben to update financial statement and bring to next meeting and to include the honorarium given to the swim meet coordinators. A discussion on the perception of who hosts the provincial swim meet occurred. Provincial swim meet ought to be owned by all clubs. Paul suggested that clubs include in their swim meet report what clubs were represented in terms of swimmers and volunteers.
2. Swim Meet Dates
Pop Sidwell - November 20/04 at
Pentathalon - March 12/05 at Pan Am Pool
Provincials - April 16 & 17/05 at Pan Am Pool
Nationals - May 20-23/05 in
World Masters Games - July 2005 - in
3. Swim MB swim awards - October 3/04 at the Radisson Hotel. Cost $15.00.
Some masters swimmers who swam at the Nationals and placed in the top 3 will receive awards.
4. AGM for Masters Swimming MB
Terry to talk to his club to ascertain if AGM can be tied to Pop Sidwell meet. Terry to contact Glenn.
5. Paul related that Swim MB has asked all clubs to identify 3 goals and bring to the meeting. Paul is asking the Board what would be the goals of this board and of the Masters clubs. Some of Paul's suggestions were: A. for Rhiannan Lier to be utilized as a speaker and as a representative to talk about amateur swimming which would include Masters. B. swimming to find a sponsor. C. Swim MB to publicize masters swim clubs.
Terry suggestions were A. a provincial website re: masters clubs be organized. For his swim club the goal is to get more regular members.
